Manhattan
Note: due to problems with our internet connection, which does not allow us to upload pictures on the blog, today's entry will be posted with only two pictures. The rest will be posted whenever the connection is functioning again.
ENGLISH
We've been touring Manhattan today. We woke up early and took the bus from the hotel to the Port Authority Terminal downtown Manhattan- just a block away from Times Square. We got a glimpse og Madison Square Garden, the Flatiron Building- known by its triangular shape- and Union Square on our way. At union Square there was a market with fresh products from local farmers. How colorful!
Later on, we went to Little Italy and walked by the great number of restaurants and shops before entering Chinatown. As we have seen previously this summer in Vancouver and San Francisco, Chinatown was overflown with exotic foods, barbershops, restaurants and people of Chinese outcome playing cards. As we approached the Financial District, we had our lunch at a Japanese restaurant.
After lunch, we visited the Financial District and walked towards Staten Island Ferry Terminal, and then to Battery Park, from where we could see the Statute of Liberty. We walked next to the building under construction at Ground Zero and through the promenade parallel to the Hudson. Finally, we strolled some streets in TriBeCa before taking the subway and the bus back to the hotel. After having walked the whole day, the kids are very tired and are already sleeping ... I guess I'll have to write the Spanish part of the blog tonight.
